Q - How big must my dog have to be to
wear the collar?
A - The dog should weigh at least 8 pounds. The Deluxe Little dog trainer is
designed for dogs weighing up to 30 lbs. The Deluxe Big dog trainer is for dogs weighing
more than 30 lbs.
Q - Can I use the collar to train my
dog to obedience commands?
A - Yes, this is one of the most popular uses for this training system.
Q - My dog does not know any obedience
commands, should I use the collar as a starting point?
A - This system is never a starting point. A dog should know the basics first.
These systems are meant as an aid in training.
Q - Will the correction hurt my dog?
A - No. The correction is safe, harmless and humane.
Q - Can I use the collar to teach my
dog yard boundaries?
A - Yes, but it is not as effective as the Radio Fence - due to the fences'
physical boundary. In order to accomplish this feat with a remote trainer, you would need
to "catch the dog in the act" each and every time he attempts to escape. For
this purpose, you should consider the Deluxe Fence.
Q - Can I use the collar to prevent my
dog from jumping on people?
A - Yes, but you have to be careful that the dog does not associate the
correction with the person.
Q - Can I use the collar to stop my
dog from being aggressive?
A - No. This system should never be used with any type of aggressive behavior.
For this type of behaviour you should contact a Professional Dog Trainer to work with you.
Q - I am going to use the collar
to teach my dog the "come" command. Should I use a long leash at first?
A - Always. This will help you guide the dog into the appropriate behavior.
Q - Can I use the collar to control
barking?
A - Yes, but only when you are present. For this purpose, we recommend the Deluxe Bark Collar.
Q - Why is my Trainer set to level
five instead of level one?
A - That is preset by RSC. But you can adjust the level of correction with your
control unit by holding down the "P" button until your reach the level you want.
Q - What are the white dots for?
A - They are to align the unit up for activation.
Q - Is the receiver waterproof?
A - Yes the receiver is, but the transmitter is not.
Q - Where can I find batteries for my
Trainer?
A - The batteries can be found at the local stores that carry our product lines
or at most retail stores that sell cameras. The batteries are 2 3-volt Lithium discs #
2032 in the receiver and a single 9-volt Alkaline battery for the transmitter.
Q - What is the range of the unit?
A - The unit can operate up to approximately 100 yards ( 300 feet ) in open
terrain. We recommend this unit for basic training within reasonable close proximity ie:
fornt yard, back yard - small parks. Depending upon terrain, a more reliable 50-60 yards
is to be expected.
