Rechargeable or Replaceable Batteries ?
If you're shopping on-line, you may find rechargeable systems out there.
Rechargeable is a great option - there's no doubt on that one - but be sure to read the
fine print on these systems before you buy and don't be afraid to ask questions of
the retailer or "e-tailer" about the system and specifically about the
"rechargeable battery".
Consumer Alert: Be aware some "rechargeable"
systems out there are not user-replaceable
"rechargeable batteries" in the collar and when the rechargeable battery
finally dies - typically within 12-13 months ( hence their limited 12 month warranty ),
you are forced to buy a brand new collar - at up to $200 a pop ! Well, that's great
news for the manufacturer and the retailer selling these rechargeable products - but
definitely not for the budget conscious consumer.
With nearly 20 years experience in this industry we strongly recommend that whether
it's a training collar or a containment system you are looking at purchasing - if the
rechargeable battery is not user-replaceable
then it's just not worth the money - unless, of course you're happy to throw your money
away year after year...

America and are also available 24/7/365 directly from us at a substantial savings over
retail. Many are also commonly available at the battery stands you see in stores
nationwide.
Multiple Dogs ?
Another very important point to note. If you have more than one dog, rechargeable
systems may not be for you. With rechargeable systems you
can only charge one collar at a time - which leaves your
other dog locked up in the house waiting their turn - not ideal. But if you stagger
charge the batteries (ie: charge one on a Monday and the other on Tuesday etc.) , you'll
be fine and there are many multi-dog fences out there. With user-replaceable
batteries, the dead battery is replaced in seconds giving true freedom of the yard for
your dog and peace of mind for you.
