| Looking
to find a breaksin your boundary wire? The Wire Break Locator (RFA-50) below can help cut your search time in
half. Simply plug the Wire Break Locator transmitter in place of your current
PetSafe transmitter and it will complete the signal loop (forcing an RF signal) in order
to help locate the break in your wire with the included AM radio. Simply follow your
perimeter wire with the AM radio and you will be able to hear the systems' static pulses
being picked up by the radio. When you get to an area with no static pulse at all,
you've found your break - now how easy is that ? Needless to say, there may be more
than one problem area in your layout.
Remember too the importance of water-proofing
any and all splices & repairs in your perimeter. If any moisture gets into the
wire it can corrode the copper wire (even within it's protective insulation) whereby
causing dead-spots and this too can be deemed a break or "dead-area" by the
transmitter. As such, if you do find a break, we strongly recommend not just fixing
the immediae break, but in fact replacing a 3-4ft section of the boundary wire in the area
just in case of any additional moisture issues.
For peace of mind with your
dog fence, this is a must-have item.
